Beave Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Beave mobile app ("Beave", "the app", "we", "us"), published by Aktar Studio. By installing or using Beave, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Who can use Beave

You must be at least 13 years old to use Beave. By using it, you confirm you meet that requirement.

2. Your account

You can use most of Beave without an account, including app blocking, blocking rules, focus sessions and your statistics. Signing in with Google is needed for the leaderboard, cloud backup of your tasks, and to buy Beave Gold. You're responsible for activity on your account. If you think someone has accessed it without permission, contact us.

Signing in is required before a purchase so that your subscription stays attached to one account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app.

3. Beave Gold, billing and cancellation

Beave is free to use. Beave Gold is an optional paid upgrade that unlocks features such as unlimited blocking rules, detailed statistics and custom dam regions. It is sold as a monthly or annual subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.

• Payment is taken through your Google Play account at the price shown at the time of purchase. Prices vary by country and may change; any change is shown to you before it takes effect.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Cancel at any time in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Gold until the period you already paid for ends.
• Free trials, where offered, convert into a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends. Eligibility is determined by Google Play, and a trial may not be available if you have subscribed before.
• The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment tied to the Google account that bought it, for as long as Beave is available. It does not renew.
• Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's refund policy, since Google is the merchant. Contact us if something has gone wrong and we'll help where we can.

If we ever discontinue a Gold feature, we'll say so in the app. Removing a feature you paid for does not automatically entitle you to a refund of a past period, but we'll deal with it fairly.

4. What app blocking can and can't do

Beave blocks apps by watching which app is in the foreground and showing a reminder screen over it. This is deliberately a speed bump, not a lock. It depends on Android permissions you grant, and it can be bypassed, for example by revoking those permissions, force-stopping Beave, or uninstalling it. Some manufacturers also restrict background apps in ways that can interrupt blocking.

Beave does not block your dialer, messaging app, launcher or emergency calling. You should not rely on Beave for anything safety-critical, and you remain responsible for your own use of your phone.

5. Acceptable use

When using Beave, especially anything visible to others, you agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, bully, or abuse other people
• Choose a display name or profile photo that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or impersonates someone else
• Manipulate or falsify focus statistics to gain leaderboard position
• Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the app or its systems
• Use the app to collect or harvest other users' information

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create, such as your tasks and your profile details. By using features that display or back up that content, you give us the limited permission needed to store and show it so the app works. You're responsible for the content you add, and you agree it doesn't break these Terms or the law.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these Terms, abuse other users, or put the app or its community at risk. You can stop using Beave at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the app.

8. The app is provided "as is"

We work hard to make Beave reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the app will always be available, error-free, or that it will produce any particular result, such as improved productivity or reduced screen time. Beave is a focus and digital wellbeing tool. It is not medical or psychological advice, diagnosis or treatment, and its sleep and screen-time figures are estimates rather than clinical measurements. If you're concerned about your relationship with your phone or your sleep, speak to a qualified professional.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Aktar Studio is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Beave, including any loss you attribute to an app being blocked or failing to be blocked. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Beave in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, including your statutory consumer rights.

10. Third-party services

Beave uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Analytics), Google Play Billing with RevenueCat and Superwall for purchases and the upgrade screen, and map data from OpenStreetMap and OpenTopoMap for the dam map. Your use of those underlying services is also subject to their terms. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Beave evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the courts located in India. If you use Beave as a consumer elsewhere, this does not remove protections you have under the mandatory law of your own country.
