This policy explains what data Beave ("the app", "we", "us") collects, why, and what control you have over it. It applies to the Beave Android app published by Aktar Studio.
Beave works anonymously. You can build your dam, run focus sessions, block apps, and manage tasks without signing in. In this mode, your data lives only on your device and is never sent to us.
Signing in (with Google) is optional and only needed for social features: adding friends, chat, Flip Together sessions, and the leaderboard.
When you sign in with Google, we receive and store:
If you allow notifications, we store a device push token so we can deliver friend requests, chat messages, and Flip Together invites.
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features people actually use. This helps us prioritise what to build next and what to fix. Analytics collects:
Firebase Analytics has been configured to NOT use the Android Advertising ID, so analytics events can't be linked to your ad profile elsewhere. We also do not use Analytics for ads or remarketing.
The data above is used solely to:
Cloud data (account, profile, social features, push tokens) is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging). Firebase processes this data on Google's servers under Google's security and privacy practices. See Firebase's privacy documentation and Google's Privacy Policy.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account inside the app, or by emailing us (below). This removes your Beave profile, leaderboard entry, and friend connections. Tasks and dam progress stored locally on your device are removed when you uninstall the app.
One current limitation: chat messages you've sent to friends remain in their conversation history, our backend doesn't support deleting them yet, even on request. See our account deletion page for the full picture of what is and isn't removed.
Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Cloud data is protected by Firebase's access rules so that, for example, your chats are readable only by you and the friend you're chatting with. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the data we hold to the minimum needed to run the app.
Beave is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
We may update this policy as Beave evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
